Building a marketplace
Differentiating in 18 months
Background
A startup accelerator in the mobility sector wanted to position itself on the fast-growing market for electric micro-mobility (bikes, scooters, scooters), a market that has exceeded one billion euros in France. The objective was to capture a significant part of this market with a differentiating concept.
Approach
Following a scoping phase, a new entity called Chango was designed: the first French marketplace dedicated to light electric mobility, with an enriched purchasing experience (product tests, comparisons, services). The launch strategy was based on 3 pillars: traffic generation, first income through affiliation, then implementation of a marketplace model.
Impact
In 18 months, Chango was launched with a founding team of 4 people. Results: €500,000 in sales in 6 months, 100,000 unique visitors per month, 20% monthly growth. The project was then sold to another player following a change in shareholder strategy.
