VE : Livelocal: a new impact-tourism platform

A new way to travel

Livelocal is a tourism platform born from the partnership between a transport company and a startup studio. Aimed first at the Atlantic Arc, it offers both visitors and locals a travel experience built on authentic, responsible, and truly local activities. Launched initially in Aquitaine and Normandy, the service will be rolled out across France and then Europe in 2023.

The power of a corporate × entrepreneur alliance

Brittany Ferries and 321 have joined forces to combine their strengths: Brittany Ferries, a key player in tourism, carries millions of travellers each year to Atlantic-Arc regions, while 321 contributes its entrepreneurial muscle for launching new startups.

This initiative is part of Brittany Ferries’ innovation strategy as the company marks its 50th anniversary. “LiveLocal is a project built on three pillars: diversification, destination, and digital,” explains Christophe Mathieu, CEO of Brittany Ferries. “We quickly saw the chance to offer tourists and residents a new service that quenches their thirst to move beyond mass tourism—an offer that still isn’t fully structured,” adds Patrick Amiel, co-founder of 321.
